Exploring New Subjects and Experiences
Year 5 pupils from Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Academy in Billingham enjoyed an exciting taster day at St Michael’s Catholic Academy, experiencing a range of lessons and activities designed to give them a taste of secondary school life.
The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for children to learn in a new environment, try new challenges and discover what they can look forward to in the future.
A Day Full of Learning and Fun
Throughout the day, pupils took part in a variety of engaging lessons. They challenged themselves in a maths relay, baked delicious cookies during a food technology session and enjoyed a dynamic science lesson where they experimented with different chemicals using a Bunsen burner.
The children also participated in a PE lesson, where they developed their teamwork and sporting skills while playing volleyball.
Building Confidence for the Future
The taster day was filled with learning, excitement and memorable experiences. It gave pupils the chance to develop new skills, meet staff and experience some of the opportunities available at secondary school.
Our Year 5 children thoroughly enjoyed the day and represented the school brilliantly throughout.
A huge thank you to St Michael’s Catholic Academy for providing such a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our pupils.
