Pupils at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Academy in Billingham recently welcomed a special visitor when Angela from Cleveland Fire Brigade came into school to share important fire safety advice.
The informative visit helped children learn how to stay safe at home and understand the steps families can take to prevent fires.
Learning How to Stay Safe
During the session, Angela spoke to pupils about firework safety and shared practical guidance on staying safe around fireworks and bonfires.
Children also learned about the importance of fire prevention in the home, including simple measures that can help keep families safe.
Important Home Safety Advice
One of the key messages from the visit was the importance of having working smoke alarms installed at home.
Pupils were reminded that families without smoke alarms can contact Cleveland Fire Brigade, who can provide and install them free of charge, helping to ensure homes are protected.
A Valuable Visit
The school would like to thank Angela and the team at Cleveland Fire Brigade for taking the time to visit and share these important safety messages.
The visit provided pupils with valuable knowledge that will help them stay safe and make informed choices at home and during firework celebrations.
